Keep your lifting equipment on schedule

LOLER is the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998. A thorough examination is a detailed assessment of lifting equipment by a competent person, followed by a written report. It is separate from routine servicing and daily pre-use checks.

 

Unless a competent person's examination scheme sets different intervals, the usual examination intervals are 12 months for other lifting equipment, and 6 months for lifting accessories and equipment used to lift people. Examination may also be required after exceptional circumstances that could affect safety. The appropriate scope and interval depend on the equipment and its use.

2. On-site examination. We agree access and availability, then examine the relevant lifting components. The competent person determines the checks and any testing needed for your equipment.

 

3. Clear reporting. Receive a written report recording the findings and next examination date. Where defects are identified, the report explains the action and timescales required. An examination does not replace ongoing maintenance or safe operation.
